Ricky Barkley Jean-Francois (pronounced /ˌdʒiːn.frænˈswɑː/ jeen-fran-swah;[1] born November 23, 1986) is a professional American football nose tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. He played collegiately at Louisiana State.

College career

As a member of the National Championship winning 2007 LSU Tigers football team, he was the Defensive MVP of the 2008 BCS National Championship Game. Jean-Francois was also a member of the LSU track & field team.

Jean-Francois was a teammate of former Miami Hurricane and current New York Giant Safety Kenny Phillips at Miami Carol City High School.

Professional career

Jean-Francois was selected on April 26, 2009 as a 7th round draft pick for the 49ers. In recent times Jean-Francois has become famous among 49er fans for his "Peanut Butter Jelly Dance".[2]

Family

Jean-Francois has two brothers and two sisters. His middle name is Barkley after NBA superstar Charles Barkley.
